The Ogden Whitewater Park is located on the Weber River in the city of Ogden and was officially opened October 21, 2000. The Park consists of 4 holes with large eddies on every hole and an easy portage trail to return to the top.

Located on the Weber River at Exchange Road and 24th Street, Ogden’s Kayak Rodeo Park is a work in progress. It all started when Ogden City officials asked artists and architects to present concepts for urban improvements. A local artist and kayak enthusiast pushed for a kayak park. It had never been done in Utah before so no one really knew what obstacles would get in the way.

Early efforts focused on cleaning up the river and placing large boulders in strategic spots in the channel. The boulders created drops and pools in the river to make it more challenging for the kayakers. The rocks were also placed to help the fish habitat, making deep pools that become resting-places for trout and waterfalls that become "their cafeteria".

Normal water flows at the park are between 250-270 cfs. Concrete pads on the bank make launching easy. Future plans call for the addition of lights and a deck for spectator viewing. The second phase of Ogden’s "Centennial Trail," currently under construction, parallels the kayak park.

Other Ogden area whitewater can be found on the Ogden River from Pineview Reservoir to Washington Blvd. With class 2-5 rapids all levels of boaters will enjoy the water. The Weber River between Mt. Green and Highway 89 also offers some extreme whitewater with the best flows April through June.
