
The Bardstown Boaters are currently working with the
City of Bardstown to bring a whitewater park to
Kentucky at the site of an old rubble dam on the Beech
Fork of the Rolling Fork of the Salt River.
The purpose of the project is to restore the invert for municipal use and to enhance whitewater recreation while removing the hazardous conditions that currently exist. During reconnaissance evaluation significant erosion of the right bank was surveyed. The Project encompasses three goals:

- $350,000 estimated cost to build
- Restoration will straighten dam to prevent erosion
- Reenforce dam and stop leaks to hold back more water
- Increase Cities water pumping capacity to 7-8mgpd
- Increase safety at dam which was installed in 1928
- Rock terraced seating and stairs to built river side
- Gravel parking at the river park
