Maybe Baby Watch 2008 will be over by then and the moons align and I am able to sneak away that weekend. I certainly be looking at the stars as that weekend draws near.

I'm actually rafting the Gualey the weekend before the fest with coworkers. I want to take some people down something in the duckie on Sunday, but the only II-III section i know is the upper New, which is about 12 miles and makes very late getting home. Do you know any other shorter runs that should be running then?

I know you guys have future playboaters and steep creekers on the way but thought I would post anyway. Me and the trio of EKU boaters are planning to be at Gauley Fest again this year. If anyone is able to make it let me know, the experience and river are amazing. I think the date is 20-22.

Hi, and sorry for not having gotten back to you earlier. I don't have
regular access to email so when I do get an opportunity to use my
colleague Tammy's computer I have been trying to keep up with my Mom and
Dad and one of my best friends. But I've been meaning to get back to you
for a while. I've been having a great time out here, learning more and
more every day, meeting new people and seeing plenty of different
places, the most exciting of which so far has been our 3-week stay in
Cedar Rapids doing flood cleanup. The Paddle Pickup this year ended up
giving me some useful practical experience in cleanups from a canoe --
our crew just got back from three days of canoeing and camping (and
cleaning of course) along the Shell Rock River in Iowa, near Cedar
Falls. We did about ten miles a day and filled 2 canoe loads a day,
although some of these experienced paddlers were bringing in loads that
I don't think I could have balanced without capsizing. The
cleanup takes place annually and is called Project A.W.A.R.E. (A
Watershed Awareness River Expedition). It's actually a week long;
hopefully when we go back next year we may be able to do the whole
thing. It's very well organized, better so in some ways than most of our
cleanups. We had three catered meals a day and snacks and water
available before and at the halfway point each day. The organizers also
recycle 90% of what's picked up, versus about 70% for what we and our
volunteers pick up. We could recycle more, but it's very time consuming
to separate all the individual glass and plastic bottles that come in,
as the organizers of Project AWARE did. At any rate, I was glad to have
participated in the Paddle Pickup for the experience of canoeing with a
full load of trash, and all of the crew enjoyed being out there: the
quiet, the paddling itself, the spirit of the participants. It was also
nice to be able to do a cleanup without having to handle all
the logistics of transporting people back and forth, separating and
hauling trash, etc. I will definitely be mentioning the Bardstown
Boaters when we go over our schedule for our next Louisville visit and
hopefully we can send some or all of our crew down to take part in the
next Paddle Pickup. Thanks again for the experience and I'll let you
know if I make a visit down to Louisville before the barge moves down
there again, just to see if you all have any canoeing events planned.

I am looking to purchase a used kayak. Preferrably a recreational type that would do well on the lake as well as the river. Just an entry level kayak would suffice....this would be my first one. I just don't want to spend too much on it.

We tried to become a 501(c)3 and failed. We are now trying for the 501(c)7, which should happen.
The second one just shows we have an assumed name as BBA instead of BBA, Inc.
